Overview of Global Food Packaging Regulations Provided at Seminar

Keller and Heckman will host its annual Food Packaging Law Seminar on October 24 - 25, 2012, in Arlington, VA. This highly-acclaimed, annual seminar helps attendees keep up-to-date on new global food packaging laws, provides a review of U.S. and European Union (EU) packaging regulations, and offers in-depth coverage of specific topics. This year, Keller and Heckman will host Jason Aungst, Ph.D., a Supervisory Toxicologist at FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, as a luncheon speaker.

In addition to U.S. and EU food packaging regulations, Keller and Heckman attorneys and scientists will provide an overview of how food-contact materials are regulated in Canada and China. Other presentations will include: chemistry and toxicology considerations in the U.S. and EU, an update on the U.S. Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and transportation of food packaging materials. Breakout sessions will cover paper packaging, plastics packaging, the safety of printing inks, and legislative developments in U.S. states.
