Keller and Heckman to Host 23rd Annual Food Packaging Law Seminar in Arlington, VA

Expanded Sustainability Workshop Offered

Keller and Heckman’s 23rd Annual Food Packaging Law Seminar will take place in Arlington, VA (just outside Washington, D.C.) on October 18 and 19, 2022. Due to the success of last year’s Sustainability Workshop, an expanded version of the workshop will take place following this year’s seminar on October 20.

Keller and Heckman’s Food Packaging Law Seminar is the premier event for regulatory, scientific, technical, and legal professionals in the food packaging industry. Previous attendees have praised the seminar as an “[e]xcellent forum for keeping up to speed with global developments in food contact” and a “really solid overview of what you need to know about packaging topics at this time.”

Presentations by Keller and Heckman food packaging attorneys and scientists will provide an overview of global food packaging laws and regulations, with presentations on how to attain clearances for food contact materials in jurisdictions around the world, from the U.S. and South America to Europe, Japan, China, Thailand, South Korea, and India. Additional sessions will cover technical considerations, customer assurances, GMP requirements, the latest on EU’s efforts to revise food contact regulations, California’s Proposition 65, and recent developments related to PFAS and other chemical substances.

The Sustainability Workshop will address the growing demand for sustainable food packaging by providing insights on market drivers, trends, and challenges, along with solutions. An attendee from last year stated, “The workshop was a very good overview of what we need to know about what is coming in the near and medium-term future.” This year’s expanded workshop will include sessions on biopolymers, biodegradability, and compostability issues; the move towards extended producer responsibility (EPR) requirements for manufacturers; and FDA and EU regulations impacting recycled plastics for food contact.

Registration for the Food Packaging Law Seminar is now open. Pricing and event details can be found here
