CA Prop 65 Committee Votes to List Bisphenol S as a Reproductive Toxicant

California State House

The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC) voted 9-0 in favor of listing bisphenol S (BPS) as a reproductive toxicant (female reproductive endpoint) under Proposition 65 at its December 12 meeting.

OEHHA had requested scientific information related to the reproductive toxicity of BPS in March 2022. The information was due by April 18, 2022. (More information on that request can be found here.) Then in October 2023, OEHHA issued a publication titled, Evidence on the Female Reproductive Toxicity of Bisphenol S. A public comment period on that publication was held from October 6, 2023 to November 20, 2023.
