Keller and Heckman is excited to announce that our Practical Food Law Seminar will be returning to Chicago in 2024, being held Tuesday, April 9 - Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Omni Chicago Hotel.


This course provides members of the food industry with a comprehensive overview of the applicable statutory and regulatory framework for foods, including dietary supplements. The seminar will focus on food safety, as well as labeling and advertising.



Food safety provisions will include:

  • Food contamination
  • Foreign objects
  • GRAS ingredients
  • Pesticide residues
  • Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) developments
  • California's Proposition 65

Labeling and advertising/promotion provisions will include:

  • Mandatory labeling elements
  • Promoting products via health, nutrient content, structure/function, and ingredient quality claims
  • Challenging and defending competitive claims
  • Requirements for claim substantiation
  • Impact of consumer class actions on product claims

Cancellation Policy 
Cancellations are accepted and registration fees are refunded if notice is received by March 8, 2024. If notice is given after March 8, no refunds will be granted; however, substitutions are welcome.
