What are the FDA Specifications for Containers that Hold Alcohol?

Question

What if any are the FDA specifications or regulations for containers that hold alcohol, mostly for plastic bottling?

Answer

For plastic packaging used to bottle liquor, FDA regulatory requirements apply in the same manner as with any other packaging material. In addition, the bottles must comply with Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) regulatory requirements (The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms was split into TTB, part of the Department of the Treasury, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), part of the Department of Justice).
