Keller and Heckman Associate Mark Thompson will give two presentations as part of the Packaging & Food Contact Materials Forum at the Fibre Value Chain 2017 Conference. He will speak on "Packaging Unwrapped: Chinese regulation of food-contact paper" and "Recycled Paper requirements in the US: Untangling the FDA." 

Keller and Heckman Partner Pam Langhorn will give a presentation on "Material Health: Keeping Consumers Safe While Building Brand Loyalty" at the Sustainable Packaging Coalition’s (SPC) 2017 conference. The conference, SPC Advance 2017, is being held jointly with The Association of Plastic Recycler’s (APR) Fall Meeting. The meeting is open to members of both SPC and APR.

The redemption value on certain containers in Oregon will increase from 5 cents to 10 cents beginning April 1, 2017. Currently, Oregon’s Bottle Bill—originally passed in 1971 and administered by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC)—imposes a 5-cent container deposit on beer, soft drinks, water, and flavored water in metal, glass and plastic bottles, and cans three liters or less in size. Consumers can return the empty containers to stores or redemption centers and redeem their deposit.
