On October 25, 2021, China’s National Health Commission (NHC) published a number of draft GB standards for food and food-related products, including a few key standards for food contact materials of plastics, rubber and adhesives, which are summarized below.

On October 22, 2021, China National Health Commission (NHC) approved one new food-contact material, one food-contact material with usage expanded, and 3 new resins. The substances and specifications are listed below.

New Food-Contact Materials and Articles

On August 20, 2021, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) requested comments on 11 food-contact materials and articles, including five new additives, four food-contact materials and articles for usage expanded, and two new resins.

On July 26, 2021, the China National Health Commission (NHC) approved 3 new food-contact materials, 9 food-contact materials with expanded usage, and 7 new resins. The substances and specifications are listed below.

The Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) issued Green Product Certification Implementation Rules on June 4, 2021 (CNCA Announcement No. 7 of 2021). These rules include revisions to the first batch of 12 Green Product Certification Implementation Rules (CNCA Announcement No. 6 of 2020), including “Green Product Certification Implementation Rules for Wood Plastic Products.”
