Robert Mathews was a Food and Drug scientist at Keller and Heckman who retired in 2020. He was a full member of the Society of Toxicology and had significant research experience in biochemistry, chemistry, and carcinogenesis, and in the examination of the physical chemical properties of proteins, enzymes, and the binding of carcinogens to DNA.

While at Keller and Heckman, Dr. Mathews focused on food ingredient safety, risk assessment, and other health and toxicological issues. Prior to his work here, he was director of the Food Chemicals Codex for seven years and was a member of the Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives and the U.S.P. Committee of Revision.
