Fanny Frausto, Ph.D.

Fanny Frausto, Ph.D., provides technical guidance in determining the regulatory compliance for food additives and food packaging materials. With expertise in polymer synthesis, nanoparticle formation and characterization, and structure-property relationships, she develops testing protocols to obtain the required data for agency filings, including ones for Food Contact Notifications (FCNs) and for plastic recycling processes. She also advises on matters related to environmental issues.
Fanny supports the firm’s attorneys and their clients by developing analytical strategies for navigating regulatory requirements in a global marketplace. She also evaluates the compliance of consumer products under the requirements of California’s Proposition 65 by creating quantitative exposure models and performing risk assessments.
Prior to joining Keller and Heckman, Fanny was a senior scientist for a major consumer products company, where she executed technical projects to bring a variety of products to market and developed formulations to meet the company’s sustainability goals.
Fanny has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and holds several patents related to her research. In addition, she is regularly invited to speak at industry conferences and events.
