Question: May an FCN be filed for building blocks of polymeric substances, and who is permitted to rely on the FCN?

Answer: FCNs may be (and have been) filed for such materials including, for example, monomers used to make polymers. These are effective for the submitter and its customers when used by the customers to make particular polymers specified in the notification.
